Documents Checklist Before You Visit a CSC Centre
Summary
Most rejected applications fail on paperwork, not eligibility. Carry these documents and you will usually finish in one visit.
Always carry
- Aadhaar card, original plus two photocopies
- The mobile number registered with Aadhaar, in a working phone for OTP
- Two recent passport-size photographs
- PAN card if the service involves money, tax or a bank account
Carry when the service needs it
- Address proof: electricity bill, ration card or registered rent agreement
- Income proof: salary slip, Form 16 or a self-declaration where allowed
- Bank passbook first page or a cancelled cheque for any benefit transfer
- Caste, domicile or birth certificate where the scheme requires it
Common reasons applications are rejected
Name spelled differently across documents, an old mobile number linked to Aadhaar, blurred scans, and photographs older than six months. Fix these before the visit rather than after a rejection.
